• Each SIG must have the following:

  • At least two officers

    • • Must have a president & treasurer to receive funding. Other positions such as vice president or secretary can be created as needed.

      • ***Starting April 2025, any new SIG applications will be checked to ensure that students applying for a new SIG do not hold more than 2 Presidency positions. If you have already exceeded or met this limit, you do NOT need to change leadership roles within your SIG.  

      • If your SIG is requesting funding through CNUCOM, you must also have a treasurer

      • Additional officer roles ay be created as needed

  • A faculty advisor

  • A mission statement including goals and objectives to be updated each academic year

• Duties of a SIG:

  • Your SIG is responsible for holding a minimum of four (4) events/activities per academic year.

    • • • Events include talks, health fairs, socials, collection of resources, deliverables, etc.

        • Please upload sign in/attendance sheets for all applicable events into your SIG-specific folder.

      • Exception: If your SIG is approved between January 1 - March 31, you are only required to hold a minimum of two (2) events the rest of the academic year.

  • Upon reapplying for the coming academic year, each SIG is responsible for providing a brief narrative of activity during the current academic year along with a description of plans and goals for the coming year.

  • Deadline to submit new SIG application: March 31 (Any applications submitted past March 31, 2025 must wait until the next academic year for approval.) 

To book a space on campus for SIG activities, please fill out the CNU Room Reservation Form and submit the completed form to the front desk (Front.desk@cnu.edu).

Upon approval for use of the space, please submit a Canvas Calendar Request.

Canvas Calendar Requests are made for all SIG activities whether on campus, off- campus, or virtual.

SIG funds provided by CNUCOM may be used for the following:

• Food/refreshments for meetings and events

• Conferences

• Speaker fees

• Supplies

• Donations
