Plastic Surgery

The Plastic Surgery Student Interest Group (PS-SIG) at California Northstate University College of Medicine is a group of students with similar interests in plastic and reconstructive surgery. Our mission is to provide a collaborative and supportive community for students interested in learning about a career in plastic surgery. We hope to expand our understanding of the field by hosting talks with specialists discussing different cases, techniques, and various subspecialties. Our interest group was also formed with the intention of helping our members gain personal experience by attending conferences and pursuing opportunities revolving around shadowing, research, hands-on workshops, and events where students can interact with faculty and residents. Finally, with interest in such a highly desired field, we also focus on sharing resources and guidance to enhance applications for plastic surgery and all other competitive residency positions.

Goals and objectives for 2023-2024:

Talk by Dr. Howard Klein. He hails from New Zealand and provided us a unique glimpse into the medical system and the expansive scope of his practice as one of the few plastic surgeons in the country

Talk by our very own Dr. Michael Wong, who shared captivating stories from the nascency of his career in and outside of the OR.
