Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA)
The Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA) is a national organization that provides leadership and education opportunities for pre-medical and medical students looking to address the unique health challenges of the Asian American and Pacific Islander American population. We foster the connection between students as a means to address disparities, unify, and embrace the cultural differences among the Asian population. Through student-led celebrations of multiculturalism and guest speaker presentations, our members learn about the nuances of diversity that may impact the clinical practices of future physicians. We advocate for our community through participation in bone marrow drives, national conferences, health fairs and much more.
Goals and objectives for 2023-2024:
Unite all of the different cultures that participate in celebrating Lunar New Year to celebrate together.
Host a panel of Asian-American physicians so students can hear about their unique experiences in medicine.
Advocate for minority populations and address their health disparities by supporting the East West Health Fair.
